Fanfic Recommendations

The fanfic recommendations below are sorted by series (if it wasn’t already apparent *snort*). Under each description is a brief outline of my preferences in that series; these can easily be translated to be about the following:

• Big Time Rush
  A long (and fun-filled) journey from being normal sixteen-year-old teenage boys to a hot-shot singing boy band, as seen through the eyes of four best friends. Now just add a splatter of crazy antics, a dollop of great songs, a lovely dose of friendship, and you’ve got: Big Timg Rush.

• Crossovers
  On the far left is a perfectly reasonable world with a tale of an action-packed romance and drama. And on the right is a ridiculously impossible universe that makes even Looney Tunes look sane. The deciding factor? The artistically-licensed author’s genre-related intentions.

• Fushigi Yuugi: The Mysterious Play
  Where a magical book that transports teenage girls to ancient China exists. And where said teenage girls can make a few wishes for anything (from stopping a war to going back home) by gathering a group of (mostly) beautiful and handsome men exists.

• Gundam Wing
  In which a war throughout space is created by ugly, old men. In which that same war is ended by five handsome boys and a one resilient girl. No wands with magic, no rings with power. Just some formidable giant-sized mecha and the ability to kick some bad-guy ass.

• Harry Potter
  A less-than-ordinary kid, a hidden magical world, and a few prophesized events. Throw in a diabolical wizard whose sole purpose is to wreak havoc and get his ass kicked by the aforementioned kid, and you’ve got one heck of a mystery and adventure on said kid’s hands.

• NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service
  Crime solving with a quirky team of Navy cops: a “Boat. Bourbon. Basement.” ex-Marine; a sharp, womanizing cinematic genius; a computer-savvy “Probie”; an assassin who misuses American slang; a hyper Gothic forensic expert; and a storytelling “Ducky” who speaks to the dead.

• Psych
  “Fake Psychic. Real Detectives.” Featuring a pineapple-loving psychic imposter, his straight-laced partner with a thousand aliases courtesy of said imposter, an ever-cautious trigger-happy head detective, his gung-ho junior detective, and a behind-the-scenes no-nonsense ex-cop.

• Sailor Moon
  Girls who become nude during a superhero transformation, a man donning a tuxedo throwing roses, two talking cats with a moon-shaped bald spot, and evil villains whose unsightly minions are too dim-witted to tell left from right. The rest… just went on from there.
